Central Railroad of Pennsylvania
The Central Railroad of Pennsylvania, opened in 1893, did not enjoy prosperity. It connected Bellefonte with the New York Central Railroad's Beech Creek line at Mill Hall. The line's investors, dissatisfied with what they perceived as exorbitant rates charged by the Pennsylvania Railroad, hoped to provide shippers in and around Bellefonte an alternative. This dissatisfaction never reached the point that was anticipated and the CRR of Pa ran its last train in 1918.
